Partition Recovery

When partition recovery is required?

Partition recovery is the process through which data is recovered from damaged file and corrupted partitions. A user might face some irreversible situations which would require partition recovery. The situations in which this hard drive recovery becomes inevitable includes:

  • Conditions when partitions are inadvertently deleted by using fdisk or other different programs/commands.
  • When there is a damage caused or a corruption of the hard disk logical structure occurs due to boot virus.

During the occurrence of above situations a user might feel at a loss and may also loose every hope of recovering the data or information that is stored in the partition.

How partition recovery can be done?

The system technician can use a simple and easy DOS program for the purpose of partition recovery. By the usage of such a DOS program one can restore back:

  • Deleted partitions like FAT, FAT32 and NTFS;
  • Logical drives of deleted FAT and NTFS;
  • Can create Drive Image for the purpose of backup;
  • Hard drives and detect deleted FAT and NTFS partitions can be scanned by it along with the logical drives;
  • A preview of the files and folders on deleted partition or drive can be achieved by it so that proper data can be recovered;
  • A backup of Master Boot Record or MBR, booting sectors and Partition Table can be obtained;
  • In case of any damage occurred it can help in restoring the MBR, Boot Sectors and Partition Table from the backup taken.

The technicians can find out whether the partitions have been deleted or not by the use of extended disk scan. This can be done even when new partitions are created, formatted and used. In addition to this extended disk scan also do such actions such as:

  • Undelete primary and extended partitions;
  • Utilize it with much ease and this is controlled by keys like arrows, Enter, Esc;
  • Exhibit full information about physical and logical drive;
  • Storage of this kind of program on a bootable floppy disk just because of its small size;

The DOS program can only be able to recover those partitions that have been deleted, if the location of this is not been overwritten on hard disk drive. If the backup of master boot record or MBR is formed in a sensible manner then there is a hope for the restoration of master boot record or MBR and the information that was stored in the partitions.

What kind of data can be retrieved through partition recovery?

Server data recovery would be able to recover data lost from both system partitions like that of the DOS along with the Windows environment.

When data from Windows partition is lost then the windows server recovery can help in booting the Windows, install and run the software from under Windows Operating System.

This would help those partitions that are placed on data volumes like D, E, etc., that have been deleted or damaged to be retrieved very easily. Also, server recovery can help in recovering deleted partitions from those HDDs that are attached, and even those which are placed on the external USB drives and Memory Cards like Sun Disk, Memory Stick, Compact Flash and many more.

One should carefully follow the procedures for partition recovery to retrieve data in a hassle free manner.
